The 15-day final funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa, (the 13th Queenmother of the Asante Kingdom) Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II is ongoing.
The Final funeral rites have since Friday, December 1 been peaceful and well-organized regardless, not to mention the public display of the unique culture of Asanteman and the magnificence of the Asante Royalty.
The utmost activity on Day 9 thus Saturday, December 9 will be private and much spiritual, hence the ban on residents and traders of some suburbs in Kumasi yet to be mentioned.
Nananom will carry the Abusuakuruwa to Breman.
Kwame Adinkra, host of Kumasi-based Abusua 96.5FM's morning show, in an interview with Akuoko Kwarteng on Kessben 93.3FM yesterday, mentioned the affected areas and the exact time slated for the above mentioned rites.
According to Kwame Adinkra, not all towns in Kumasi would experience the curfew scheduled for Saturday 9PM to Sunday 2AM.
Residents in these suburbs should be very careful and accord the rules from Manhyia the requisite respect and honour!
